Why TotPDF exists
Changing a PDF should be a small task: joining two documents, taking out a page or rotating a scan. TotPDF brings together free tools to do that without creating an account or uploading documents to a conversion server.
Who is behind TotPDF
TotPDF is a personal project by Siddharta Navarro, an AI consultant in Catalonia. It is developed and maintained by one person: there is no company or team behind it. He writes about AI agents and governance on his blog, siddhartanavarro.com. It is a sister project to Imavolo, the image converter.
How it works
Your browser does the work on your computer or phone, using open-source libraries. There is nothing to install. The site is available in Catalan, Spanish and English.
Everything runs right here in your browser, on your own device.
What you can do
- Merge PDF
- Extract PDF pages
- Compress PDF
- Images to PDF
- PDF to images
- Rotate pages
- Split PDF
What to expect, and what not to
There are seven tools. OCR, text editing and electronic signatures are not included. Files are limited to 150 MB each, 500 pages for processes that render pages and 1,000 for Split. Compression turns pages into images: selectable text, forms and links are lost. Always keep the original.
Changes can invalidate digital signatures, and merging or extracting pages can lose forms, bookmarks and links. Always check the result. This is not a tool for editing or securely redacting sensitive information.
An open project
The code is public. You can see how it works, report an error or suggest an improvement in the repository. The project grows around those needs, one tool at a time.
GitHub ↗Contact
TotPDF is run by one person: there is no support desk or contact form. Write to me at siddharta.navarro@gmail.com or open an issue on GitHub. If a tool fails, tell me which tool, browser and device you were using; please do not attach private documents. Replies can take a few days.
